Both new positions are vital to our work of supporting an institution of equity and belonging by enhancing access to public health promotion. Assistant Director – Substance Misuse Prevention and Recovery Support:  The Assistant Director is responsible for coordinating support for CWU students who are in recovery from substance use disorders or need support with risk reduction related to substance misuse. They also serve multiple functions within the campus and greater community; focusing on the prevention, education, and reporting of issues related to drug misuse and recovery initiatives. This position collaborates with faculty on issues relating to curriculum infusion and assists in classroom instruction as appropriate; represents CWU and the Office of Health Promotion on various community coalitions/organizations and makes commitments that affect departmental operations. They will work closely with the other Assistant Directors (Mental Health Promotion and Training and Interpersonal Violence Prevention and Advocacy) to develop intersectional, high-impact practices across and beyond our campus. View the full job posting and salary information here.

Assistant Director – Mental Health Promotion and Training: The Assistant Director will initiate, develop and manage mental health promotion and self-help initiatives that maximize and maintain holistic wellbeing of students at CWU. They also serve multiple functions within the campus and greater community; focusing on the prevention, education, and recommended response to issues related to mental illness and mental health problems. This position collaborates with faculty on issues relating to curriculum infusion and assists in classroom instruction as appropriate; represents CWU and the Office of Health Promotion on various community coalitions/organizations and makes commitments that affect departmental operations. They will work closely with the other Assistant Directors (Substance Misuse Prevention and Recovery and Interpersonal Violence Prevention and Advocacy) to develop intersectional, high-impact practices across and beyond our campus. View the full job posting and salary information here.

Both positions are full time (40- hours per week), with working hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, with flexibility based on needs of the department. All applications must be submitted through the CWU Human Resources website.

  • You have experience working in Public Health, Health Promotion, Substance Misuse Prevention, Mental Health Education, Sociology, or similar fields.
